FINALLY ! ! ! I can boil a whole bunch of water and not worry about the container bursting - I don't like using plastic pitchers...The pitcher is very delicate, the glass is thin but I have filled it up and the pitcher held up to the weight as did the handle...My hand fits inside the pitcher, an important feature for me because I do not like using those sponges on a stick. ----By Mimi

This pitcher is exactly what I was looking for! It has glass which is good for avoiding stains and chemicals. If you have kids it might not be ideal but otherwise it's great. The spout pours very easily and the handle is easy to manage. I use mine primarily for tea but it works good for other beverages as well. You can also place boiling water directly into it without any worry like you would have with plastic containers. The opening at the top is good enough size to easily fit my hand into for washing it. I tried a few different types at the local chain stores here but find this one to be my favorite. The lid also fits snug enough to prevent any liquid from coming out. ----By DSM

Love the subtle design features. The metal top stays closed via gravity, but when you tilt the Carafe to pour, the lid opens by the liquid pushing against it, allowing a controlled pour. The stopper is held in place with a silicone-like material that stays in securely. The 50 oz size is generous enough that you don't need to keep refilling it but not so large to take up loads of space. The throat of the carafe is wide enough to allow a scrub brush to be inserted for a thorough cleaning which is important to me. The height of the container is also not to tall to have the base beyond the reach of the cleaning brush. Extremely pleased with the size, design and utility of this product!
